GetREELed.com | North America's Largest Fishing Social Network

Hey folks, just new to the site and thought I would do a small introduction.

I am 25 years old and I have been unemployed for a few months so I decided to find some cheap entertainment and started fishing again. I used to fish in a large pond by my house when I was young but really didn't get into fishing that much. The pond has pike, and bass but I mostly caught little sunfish because I was fishing with worms.

I live in London Ontario which is between Toronto and Detroit in South-Western Ontario. I normally fish in the Thames river which is a shallow river that empties into Lake St. Clair near Detroit.

I like to fish with spoons because I can catch bass and sometimes pike but I seem to always get snags in the shallow rocky water!

I want to start fishing specifically for pike so I might stop going to the fast moving river and start going to ponds with shady grassy area's which I heard pike like!

Does anyone live around the area? Any tips you can give me for catching pike? time of day? weather?

Website looks cool looks like I will be here for hours!

Thanks

Hey Billy,

Welcome to the site! There's some excellent things going on here and great people to share stuff with.

I'm from Newfoundland but I live in New Brunswick now. I'm a technician at a salmon hatchery and I'm into photography and fly fishing. I make and sell flies and crankbaits, for both stores and personal deals. My favorite fishing is for brook trout, which make for great meals.

I just got home a few minutes ago from the Kennebecasis River with a trout, but just a little one. It's in the freezer waiting for some of his buddies to join him in the frying pan.

Take it easy for now,

Al.
