Had great luck with a Scum Frog so far this year. Early morning, before the bass head into deeper water, skip it along the top of the weeds into holes and pockets in the cover. I even caught a big frog with it... I didn't know they were cannibals.

He fought hard enough to turn the hooks around!

Summertime early mornings here in Florida my dad and I use a soft plastic made by our local bait and tackle shop. Its their version of a frog called a Buzz'n'Gator. Hook 'em whacky no weight and run them through the pads making sure you hit any open gaps and BAM. Its topwater world war.

because i shorefish, i have narrowed my baits to just a few. they all work in ohio for me and i usually catch at least one, no matter the weather--4" black worm, straight; 4" black worm w/chart curly tail; and pearl, 2-3" bass assassin minnow. any one worked by cover works-scents are overrated, as i use the same ones for weeks sometimes. 1 or 1/o gama wide gap hook, NO weight. Try and let me know

Well, I usually have some trouble catching Largemouth in the winter down in the desert of the Colorado. I usually use a 3 1/2 inch Chartreuse Gulp! Grub and a 1/4 oz Black Jighead with a painted eye. Works for me all the time, although, if I'm struggling a food Jiggin' of a jiggin' spoon always helps me get my pride back.
