Florida Freshwater Bass Fishing?
I have been checking out all of your photos and stories and the site is great. I am heading to Saint Petersburg Florida on March 16 thru April 5th. I would love to try and do some bass fishing while I am there. I am mostly into shore fishing as I do not want to spend a fortune with a guide or renting a boat.
Does anyone know much about ponds or rivers in the Saint Petersburg and surrounding area?
I see a lot of photos of people catching some good bass in small bodies of water.

Catch and Release
I have the photo above posted on my page. A bunch of dead Largemouth Bass on a stringer. Not surprisingly, I have been very happy with the response.
ALL NEGATIVE! Negative feedback is what I was hoping for. Bass fishing is a great outdoor activity/sport but conservation is paramount! We all need to do our part in conserving the fish population in our lakes,ponds,rivers etc...

ICE FISHING
This was a great day. It was super cold that day , I believe -20! We didn't use a hut we just drank a lot of cheap beer and it seemed to help us forget how cold it was. We were just packing up all of our rods and I had one more rod to get and as soon as I looked at the hole my rod slammed into the ice.
I ran as fast as my drunken legs would take me and I fell about 10 times for a 30 meter run! HA HA .

If this blog has gotten at least one person to re-evaluate how they treat and/ or handle fish then it was worth all the nasty comments and it doens't bother me a bit. As far as the language goes and the kids there are worse things on the news and the internet then just a little bit of swearing but I will keep your concerns in mind. To be a conservationalist you must also be an active conservationlist. Like I said in my blog...what have you done about it? I have not seen anything else on here about the way people treat fish. But when I put something on here saying worthless sluts and all hell breaks loose. I understand the females being angry about but if they are not the ones doing it and treating the fish with the respect they deserve then there should be no reason for them to get their lines all tangled. More people need to speak up and take an active roll on how others treat fish, whether or not you have to cuss, swear or throw something at someone shouldn't matter as long as you are doing something about it and protecting what you love.
