Here is what you need to do. I am from Texas, so I fish hot about half the year. What you need to fish with is called a slab or jigging spoon. It is a elongated piece of lead or metal that is 1/2 oz or 1 oz. White and chartu. works best, but can use…

I sell them, I buy them, I love them. A lot better reel than the shimanos especially for the price. great thing is that they are actually developing in the Japanese salt water market. Featuring rubber gaskets to keep salt out also felt drag washer t…

As far as high end rods go, I think Falcon will make a wide variety of rod series that should suit you well. Stay away from the carrot stix, I hear they break easily. All Stars are all right. G Lommis makes some good ones, but I have never personall…

I have a few Classic All Stars, they are about a year or two years old. I looked at the new All Star catalog and didn't see them in there so they might not make them anymore.

Thanks again for the info. I think I'm going to try the trolling motor route this weekend...and see how it goes. I'll take it back if it's not powerful enough and buy a gas. The problem is...I can't afford a new gas and they are hard to come by around here. There are more want ads for them on the net than there are good options for sale. Are you fishin gthis weekend? I can wait to drop my boat in...I'll have the new motor...extra battery (good idea)...and my new seats. Got a new Hypercast reel this year...so I'm pumped!!! Wish me luck.

Thanks for the reply to my discussion...

So just to clairfy in case you missed the part...I want to use the trolling motor as my primary power source (no gas motor)...so it should be sufficient in your opinion. It's a calm body of water and I wouldn't be going too far!!! Let me know your final thoughts...again...it's much appreciated.
