Nothing special. I just buy the instant stuff and mix it up with milk. After a bit of trial and error you'll learn how thick to make it. I lived in England for 8 years and believe me that is not how they do it but the result is close and my way is a…

Hi Robin and All, My favorite is walleye dipped in pancake batter and deep fried. Just like English style fish and chips. I can't wait to try some with the Beer Potatoes. You can be sure I'll be trying out those fish cakes too.

HI Everyone

Well here we are on October 7th in Southern Ontario, Canada. Haven’t been on the water for 3 weeks because of a nasty cold that I couldn’t seem to shake. Fall is definitely started to fill the air. The leaves on the trees are turning to beautiful reds and orange and yellow. Last night the temp. went down to 0.( 32 F for my American friends) It’s a balmy 14 (58 F) today. We have no intention of putting away the boat yet. Soon the monster Walleye will start coming in from the deep wat… Continue

Tonight at Weller's Bay' in South Eastern Ontario, I scored a hat trick. Walleye, Pike and Bass all on a 7 inch blue Rapala. Check out the photos on my page. The Bass and Walleye were decent but the pike was nothing to show off. Tomorrow it's Brighton Bay. Continue

CANADA VS USA by John Doggett

I often hear TV shows and comedians and newspapers and other forms of media discuss the differences between Canadians and Americans. Canadians are more polite; Americans are more patriotic; etc, etc, etc. I’m not really sure if these observations are accurate over all but one thing that I am sure of is that we both love fishing. Just look at the diversity of the groups on GetReeled.com. We have people from almost every province and state. I’ve had invites to be the… Continue

The Making of an Angler

Hi. My name is John; John Doggett. Recently in an effort to modernize my self I have adopted the nickname of J-Dogg but it wasn’t always so. When I was about as long as a good sized Musky my father nicknamed me “Hornet”. If you could ask him why he would tell you that when I wanted something I would buzz around and buzz around and buzz around until I got it and what I wanted the most in those days was to go fishing. I was born on the outskirts of Toronto, Ontario, Canada… Continue

Hi There, My fishing trips are very limited, glad to hear you and the wife are having some luck, Russ is busy driving and like me has little or no time to fish. I just moved to Glenn Ross, I'm on the river so hoping to get out more when I do get home. Talk soon.

Hey there, Big Jdogg. How's it going ? yea, It's getting close. I just got back from a run through the states. I'm running long haul for a company out of Cambridge. Yes, Big Gene and I will be going to Picton to fish the derby. Like every body else, I can't wait either. I'm home for the week so I have to get my motor back from the repair guy and make sure It's running good. You guys should give Picton a try, Big water Big fish ya know. History proves that all the big ones come from there. Come on down, hope to see ya's there.
Good luck

Hey J, Well here we are into Nov, Yeck. Been down to Picton a couple times with the Bro, didn't have much luck, last time (on Tues 4th) trolled for couple hours east of ferry, didn't see much on the finder. West of ferry marked losts, just as we were heading in I had a good bite, set hook to hard , got off. I start a new job on Mon the 10th ,I won't have much time after that because I will be out driving for 2 weeks at a time (out west & return) before I get home. I'll be lucky if I get on the water one more time this year. If you go down, the launch at the other side of the ferry is a good one to use. It's also free.

see ya later
good luck if you go.

Well, if you have a camper and get sick of the snow and cold head South to Lake Amistad and Falcon Lake on the Border between Texas, USA and Mexico for the Winter. We have Snow Birds (Humans from Canada) that come here with campers and if your a serious fisherman it's a great place to be. It still does get cold at times, but no snow and can get warm. You Tube and Google both lakes and some good info comes up.
