It's all in what you think is "expensive". You may think an Ugly Stik is expensive, or you may think a St. Croix rod is expensive, it's just mostly on personal preference. But anyone in their good mind will know, the higher the price tag the better…

I used to use a Shamano but then went to Pflueger rod and reel and have been using Pfluegers ever since.. I love them and have never had a problem with them. As a matter of fact I have bought Pfluegers for the whole family including the wife. They h…

ABSOLUTELY !!! Once you fish a good quality rod their is no going back to cheap stuff. Besides the weight of the quality rods is next to nothing and the sensitivity alone will help land more fish because you feel everthing.

I have used many different rods over the years. Today I use G loomis rods. I have 13 of them and I swear by them. No doubt they are very light weight and sensitive. When I read that someone can't blame the rod, I'd bet they haven't been fishing a go…

I cant say it enough.........ST.CROIX,ST.CROIX,ST.CROIX !!! Thats it and thats all.

I use only St. Croix rods. They are the duplicate of a G-Loomis for a fraction of the cost. The sensitivity is unmatched to any rod I have ever used in my 31 years of fihing. They make a rod for every application. Try one for yourself and you will n…

Hey. I've got a few dozen rods. The best ones I've got are from St Croix. Handcrafted in USA, ( a personal selling point ) an exellent warranty, and have worked out just fine for me. I also have a few G Loomis rods. I'm pretty sure they are now made…

You're right on the money, Patrick. The "tip-to-butt" test was made popular in ads back in the 80's by Shakespeare Ugly Stick. Thay can, and will, bend in full circles. So will the other rods on he market that are primary fiberglass - they are tough…

Snoopy rods that's funny...I actually caught a 30lb yellowtail on a yellow spongebob rod...anyways what you are calling a "spline" is how they are made...out here in Cali what we call backbone is how a rod can bend and work for you...and what real f…

I really like Kistler and Lamiglas rods. They are worth every penny and they both stand behind their product if anything ever happens to them.

Fishing rods don't have a ( backbone)...it's called a spline.. do you know what that is in a fishing rod?? it's were the material overlaps. G-loomis and st Croix don't spline their rods the line them up on a true straight line of the blank using a l…

Maybe we should go staright to the horse's mouth regarding G-Loomis' warranty.
May 26
the "ugly stick" has no backbone. do you know what that is in a fishing rod? if your breaking g-loomis's and lamaglasses your holding your non reel hand to high on the rod and not letting the rod do the work...with an ugly stick you 'need' two hands…
