if you are interested in trying out a new freshwater lake to fish on check out my latest blog. My parents own a resort on Jacks Lake in the heart of the Kawarthas in the town of Apsley, Ontario.
Also you could add me as a friend if you like :) If you like what you see spread the word to your friends. I'd appreciate it very much.

i've fly fish for close to 30 years now and have been tying flies for the last 20 and beleive me there is nothing to replace fly-fishing.it,s an art they say but first of all it,s a passion and anyone who enjoys fishing should have a go at fly fishing.you will not learn it overnite but let me tell you that if you spend as much time in a summer learning to fly fish as you do casting lures and spoons you will get it very fast.for beginners i do not recommend that you buy state of the art equipement(rod, reel and fly-line).it's best to get the hang of the rod and learn how to throw out the line and learn few tips before you invest in an expensive rod and reel.if you spend $300.00 on a rod and reel and then another $50.00 on a fly line it gets expensive for a beginner.i suggest you go for a beginner rod 8' 1/2 or 9' rod, a good reel and a cheaper line.learn to use the equipement before you go and spend a fortune on gear.you can be well equipped for about $100.00 if you shop around .you don,t go and buy a $60.00 Cortland fly line when you can get a Black Arrow for $20.00.the market is very big when it comes to fly-fishing and you will learn that the most expensive are not always the best.as for flies well i myself tie my own and i will sometimes buy or exchange with another tyer but i will never buy flies not hand tied .i mean Canadian tire as Wallmart are great stores but when it comes down to fishing flies shop around and find a fly-tyer or check on the internet for what you need.who needs a thousand flies when only a few good ones are needed.best of luck to you and i encourage you to take time at trying it out.
