About Me

I am absolutely in love with fishing. My passion for fishing, the ocean and the life that exists in it, drives me everyday of my life. I live and breathe fishing. When im not fishing, im reading about fishing, writing about fishing on my blog @ castyourlinefishing.blogspot.com, a blog dedicated to the women anglers all over the world. I just started the blog this week, so I need followers, I need to put myself out there for the world to see that woman can fish too.

What type of fish do you normally go for?

Anything and everything. The best thing about saltwater fishing is that there is so many different types og fish in the ocean! I go for sea bass, stripped bass, black fish, fluke, porgys, trigger fish. When I go to Florida, I go for yellowtail snapper, red snapper, grouper, there is too many to list!!

Hello everyone! My name is Tammy. I am 25 years old and live in New Jersey. I started fishing about a year ago, and it has now become a passion for me. Its all I want to do and think about. My best day of fishing was this past Feburary on a trip to the Fishing Capitol of the World they say, Islamorada, FL. We brought our own rods down there. My rod is the Shakespeare Tiger Lite which I am in love with and will not let anyone use other than myself. They were right though about the fishing.I mean the fishing is so different then anywhere I have been. We rented a boat and went along the reef. We were using live shrimp, ballyhoo, and squid as bait. Live shrimp being the best bait to use down there. I mean every time I dropped my line within seconds I had a bite and a fish to bring to the boat.We must have caught somewhere between 50-80 fish and the only reason we stopped was because we ran out of bait. Now thats a great day of fishing. The best thing about it was that there are so many different species of fish down there that you can catch. My dream fish to catch was a Mahi Mahi but I did not have any luck this time. Maybe next time. My best fish was a grouper as in the picture, although it was about 2 inches too short to keep I was proud of myself. I would love to win this contest, one because I love the fishing in Florida but also because I have never caught a Tarpon and that would be a great experience. So please pick me for this contest and you wont be disappointed. Like I stated above fishing has become a passion for me, its something I love to do all the time. I will leave you with this, I dont fish for a living, I LIVE to FISH! Please pick me!

I just got back and the salmon season is over. I'm thinking about trying steelheads a little more than usual in april. The best and only time for salmon is early-mid september through october. I wouldn't suggest going any other time. I've been going for 17 years now (since I was 8 yrs old). I've had many people tell me they want to come up and learn how to do this type of fishing and never show up. I've even had people offer $1200 a day as their guide. I'll make you a deal. If you are on my coast and still interested come next late september-october, i'll take you up there with me, teach you everything you need to know, help you pick out all the right equiptment and gaurantee you hook up on atleast 20 fish a day. a guy i've been going up with from maryland counted how many we had and averaged 70 fish/day. I'm not looking to make money. I just enjoy teaching people and see the expression on their face when they hook up.
