Shew....I haven't been backpacking in years. We went for 3 days into Gore Canyon outside Kremmling, Colorado, so our packs were a light 50+ pounds. The terrain just killed us though. It went like this- first mile down a jeep road to a 45 degree drop down loose rocky soil onto the 'trail'. Second mile- following goat trail along edge of Colorado River along cliff faces, hanging onto trees to stay on the mountain side 35 feet above class 6 rapids. Third mile- all rocks. BIG ROCKS. So, if you read the forum, you know I stumbled onto this really hot little spot for walleye here in Colorado. I have never fished a place where they were so easy to catch...but I was having some real difficulties compared to by fishing buddy Dave who was just killin' me every time we went.
