I have had many friends come and go throughout my lifetime at the young age of forty four.
I have often wondered why men and women share the same views on some topics and vary so drastically on others. It has always seemed to me, with past experiences, that women are better at multiple friendships than men.
Women will often venture outside the rubber band and have multiple friends, both men and women, and all for different reasons. They can have friends for shopping, friends with children, fri…

Hello everyone! My name is Tammy. I am 25 years old and live in New Jersey. I started fishing about a year ago, and it has now become a passion for me. Its all I want to do and think about. I enjoy fishing the flats all over Florida often stalking Reds , Snook and Trout using artificial baits only !! I've recently had the opportunity to fish the Pensacola and Gulf Breeze region and the bite was wild . I started the morning off around 6:30 am with Top Water Baits , then entered mid morning tossing suspending baits where my luck continued to carry over from the morning bite. I called it a day around 11:30 am . The morning bite brought in 2 reds 1 @ 13" and 1 @ 19" . Trout on the othe…

Fishing lures often boast great "attractive powers." Some lures rattle, some click, some fly. On balance, these "lures" are designed and built to hook fishermen, not fish. Why should fly fishers care about lures? The more I see fly tiers adding gimmicks to flies, the more their flies resemble lures. The more I see flies resembling lures, the more I realize their greatest value lies in fly-fisher "entertainment." Understanding how a fish sees will help you create flies designed, not to entertain,…

It is an old tradition to do with luck. It symbolizes a 'kiss goodbye' as well as offering a mark of respect to the fish and a thank you for the sport. As fish do not understand speech fisherman believe they communicate in kisses. However, not all fishermen kiss their fish, some believe it is unhygienic to do so. There are many old superstitions and wives tales surrounding fishermen and life at sea so kissing fish is really not very unusual. Other fishermen put maggots on their tongue to warm th…

Even among the fly fishing community, the technique is defined variously. Some anglers choose to fish nothing but dry flies, others refuse to fish a sinking line, and still others fish weighted flies but turn their noses up at split shot on a leader. What I have recognized is that these definitions carve up the sport along arbitrary lines, and that one angler's vision of fly fishing is not morally superior to another.
As a young girl, I only had the opportunity to fish with traditional bobbers…

After stumbling across the article about President Obama fly fishing in Montana, I was curious as to what other leaders of our great nation also enjoyed the sport of fly fishing. Here are my Google search results!
George Bush Sr. Fly Fishing
Vice President Dick Chaney Fly Fishing
There was a controversy circulating today about a reflection in Vice President Dick Cheney’s Sunglasses. Some said it was a woman without clot…

Have you ever heard the cliché, "The fish are always bigger on the other side of the river”? So how do you feel about the fish being bigger on the other side of the river?
It's important in life to reach out, to strive for greater achievements, to go for that bigger fish that is on the other side of the river…and try new things and open up your life.
The possibilities seemed endless to us as small children because the concept of limitations was not instilled upon us. As adults and after limita…

The sport of fishing never ceases to amaze me. There seems to be some type of fishing that will interest each one of us. This is especially the case for family fishing. Uncle John may like plug fishing for steelhead, Aunt Jane may prefer salt water fly fishing, cousin Sue may like bobber fishing for lake perch and brother Dan, may like fresh water fly fishing for rainbow trout, and so on.
In today's fast pace life styles, many people tend to get wrapped up in their every day…

October Bass Fishing Report
The month of October has seen some very good bass fishing action here in Orlando.
Johns Lake has seen some good schooling action in the early morning hours with us catching them on steel shad, gitem shad and curly 7’s. Most schooling action has been in the Deer Island Cut, with some action coming mid lake. Waters are up and bass have new feeding areas due to this, so some of the more common haunts have not produced as well as in the past. Making adjustments to your no…

I've got the next 2 weeks off. Aside from getting some duck hunting done, I want to get out and catch a few smallmouth. But it has rained heavily here lately, and the rivers are UP! The weather will cooperate, though, so getting a few smallmouth/trout/duck combo trips in shouldn't be much of a problem.
That's what I should do. I should get out trout fishing with the water up and cloudy. I'll keep y'all posted.

If you’ve never caught a mullet on a fishing pole, then this may interest you. If you have then join the few that really enjoy fishing and will do almost anything to catch a different species.
On Halloween day, Karen and I decided to put all our extensive mullet research together and go fish a short while. Normally we fish for snapper or sheepshead this time of year.
We drove the short distance to a place called Burnt Store canal and stopped at the bridge to try our luck.
After setting up my…
